Holistic, mercury-safe dentistry • Huggins Alliance & SMART protocol • Border transfers & bilingual care
American Biodental Center is a Dental Departures–verified, holistic dental clinic in Tijuana, Baja California. The team emphasizes biocompatible materials and mercury-safe protocols, following the Huggins Alliance and SMART, IAOMT, guidelines for amalgam removal. Beyond routine care, the center offers supportive therapies, such as IV vitamin C, and coordinates with an on-site lab for meticulous prosthetics like crowns, veneers, and dentures. This helps international patients finish more in fewer visits.
The approach is whole-body focused: clinicians consider how dental materials and oral inflammation may affect overall wellness. Patients appreciate the clear explanations, bilingual coordinators, and complimentary border, hotel, and airport transportation, which make cross-border trips easier.

I went to American Biodental with one missing tooth and ended up with two missing teeth as a result of their services. Their staff are disrespectful to blatantly abusive. I have evidence their “mistake” was intentional. I was seen by dentist Erika for a bridge. As a courtesy, I informed her that I understand Spanish. At the appointment to cement the bridge, she brought in a dental student and started to talk about me to him in Spanish, detailing how I had been assaulted and raped by another dentist. Understandably, this upset me, and I reminded her I speak Spanish and am a paying customer, not a free-of-charge case study in trauma. Instead of apologizing, Erika got an attitude like I should be grateful for her disrespect. She then cemented the bridge incorrectly, causing the “death” of a perfectly healthy tooth, as documented later by an endodontist. The only option I was offered was to have the front anchoring tooth extracted and a permanent, removable partial denture. As I attempted to work with the practice on this issue, they repeatedly lied to me and withheld information. When I returned for a follow-up appointment, dentist MaryCarmen was two hours late for my appointment. I was offered a sedative, which would not have been needed had my appointment happened on time. Extraction of the tooth was performed without a treatment plan, and without my consent. Coordinator Javier entered the room and demanded I have some unnecessary IV infusion that made me sick previously. He bullied and threatened me for several few minutes. In spite of these events, I continued to try to work with American Biodental and scheduled a meeting to negotiate a refund of the money I spent originally for the bridge. At this meeting, Javier was intentionally psychologically abusive to me, making statements like “I don’t like your attitude”, “Don’t you dare raise your voice to me”, and “Stop being manipulative.” Eventually, he offered me half of the original price of the service for the bridge, which indicates he and his superiors know that they are responsible for the damage to me. This amount is not sufficient to cover my damages. I ended the meeting at that time because Javier was continually abusive throughout, and it was, at this time, evident to me that American Biodental was actually invested in harassing and abusing me.
It was the most blessed tooth extraction I have ever had and I have had far toooooo many!!! Everyone was courteous, kind, it was the cleanest bathroom (cleaned every half hour) I have ever seen! Dr. Edwardo gave me the least painful roof of the mouth shot I ever had. The intravenous vitamin C left me feeling the best I have felt in a long time. I have had 4 mouth reconstructions due to Fluoride poisoning (by a dentist in Hawaii) at age 11 which gave me dental fluorosis. So my entire mouth is dental crowns. The driver Bruno got us over the border back to the USA in 40 minutes!!! He is a pro and a very safe driver. He knows all the back roads and side roads. Not everyone tipped him but I sure did, he was so awesome. I HIGHLY recommend American Bio Dental.
For the first time in my whole life, I had a totally positive experience at the detnsit. Both the dentist and hygenist were super nice! I felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time! Plus he was fast. Happy I found you guys!
My care at American Bio Dental has been outstanding and has far exceeded my expectations.
Dr. Rene was very thorough and answered all of my questions. His assistant was very good. Javier is always very helpful and organized. The front desk was friendly. Would be godo to know when they change appointment times.
